研究概要	本年度において、4f希土類金属とシクロオクタテトラエンとの多層サンドイッチクラスターを生成させ、負イオンの光電子分光スペクトル、イオン化エネルギーの測定、あるいは化学反応性から金属原子とシクロオクタテトラエンとの結合状態および電荷について知見を得た。すなわち、Eu,Ybでは2個の電子を放出し、+2となり、その他の場合は+3となる。Ln(COT)2^-の負イオンの光電子スペクトルを測定し、Ln=Eu,Ybと、Ln=Nd,Hoで2つの異なったスペクトルパターンが見られ、Eu,Ybでは類似の電子状態であるがNd,Hoとは異なることが結論された。Euはピリジン分子と6配位の錯体をつくることが凝集相では知られている。我々は、レーザー蒸発したEu原子とピリジンを気相中で混合しその質量分析を試みた。その結果、正イオンにおいてのみEu原子に1つ2つとピリジンが配位し、6個まで配位したのち、急激に分布が少なくなることが見い出された。我々はLn-C_<60>の組み合わせた2成分クラスターの安定性を質量スペクトル、化学反応住のプローブから検討した。ランクニド元素全般にLn-(C_<60>)_4((1,4)と略記)が魔法数でさらに(2,5),(3,6)と安定なクラスターが観則される。これらのクラスクーは、化学的に安定であり、(1,4)の正四面体構迫にさらに四面体が重なった安定構造をとっていると結論された。この構造はコバルトなどの遷移金属原子と類似点もあるが、希土類元素よりC_<60>への電荷移動によるイオン結合であり、3d遷移金属元素とC_<60>との共有結合性とは異なること、その結果C_<60>同士が反発的であることが結論された。その構造、物性を測定するためソフトランデング装置を製作し、マトリックスに坦持したサイズ選別したクラスターの赤外スペクトルの観測に成功した。
