研究概要	ナノグラファイトリボンをTiC(557)上に作製し、その電子状態を角度分解紫外線光電子分光で観測した結果、第一ブリルアンゾーン付近でフェルミ準位付近に、新たな電子状態が発生した。この状態は、ジグザグ端に局在したFujita状態に対応する。また、Ni(111)面上に作製したグファフェンナノ結晶からの電界電子放出現象を観察し、安定な電子放出現象を確認した。ナノグラファイト系において、エッジ状態が関与する電気伝導特性と不純物の効果をランダウアー公式に基づいて調べ、渦電流状態の形成によって特異なコンダクタンスの消失が生じる事などを見出した。また、ナノチューブに関しても同様に電気伝導特性を調べ、不純物準位に起因するコンダクタンスの量子化が生じる事を明らかにした。ナノグラファイトの三次元ネットワークからなる活性炭素繊維の磁性の熱処理温度依存性を調べ、金属―絶縁体転移近傍でエッジ状態のスピンがスピングラス的なランダム磁性状態を形成することを明らかにした。また、ナノダイヤモンドの熱処理によりナノグラファイトを作製し、そのカリウム及び臭素インターカレーション化合物を作成した。インターカレーション反応は1400度以上の熱処理試料で起こり、ナノサイズの大きさを反映して、均一構造は形成しないことが明らかとなった。第一原理計算によって、zigzag端が全く水素終端されていないナノグラファイトリボンの電子状態を調べ、端のダングリングボンドによってエッジ状態がほとんど影響を受けないことを明らかにした。また、キノイド型の極限構造が可能なzigzagリボン(N=odd)においても、局所密度近似の範囲では基底状態での格子歪みがほとんど生じないことを示した。
