研究概要

本年度の研究実績は、以下の4つの研究テーマに分類される:
1. まず、確率論における「拡散過程の境界値問題」を解析学の偏微分方程式論、関数解析学、確率論の“三分野の接点"の問題として捉え、最新の偏微分方程式的手法及び関数解析的手法を援用することに依り、従来の確率微分方程式的手法よりも一般の境界条件の場合についての詳しい研究を行なった。
2. 次に、ディリクレ問題とノイマン問題を特別な場合として含む「非線型楕円型混合型境界値問題に対する解の一意存在定理」を、解の分岐理論を使って統一的に証明し、1980年代の楕円型境界値問題の研究を退化型境界条件の場合に一般化した。さらに、ブルガリアのパラガチェフ教授及びポピバーノフ教授との共同研究において、確率論におけるマルコフ過程構成の問題から派生した「楕円型積分微分作用素の境界値問題に対する解の一意存在定理」を証明した。
3. 上記の研究の応用として、梅津健一郎との一連の共同研究において、アレニウスの法則とニュートンの冷却の法則をみたす「化学反応物に対する燃焼問題」を考察した。本研究では、活性化エネルギーが十分小さい場合には、化学反応は連続的であって爆発現象が起こることはないが、活性化エネルギーが十分大きい場合には、酸素と化学反応物の比率に応じて、不連続に爆発が起きたり、起こらなかったりするという化学実験データの数学的な証明を与えた。
4. 最後に、偏微分方程式論の手法と結果を用いて、「相対的ドラームコホモロジー群に対する指数公式」を定式化し、その解析的な証明を与えた。証明には、ホッジ・小平の古典的な調和積分論の“内部境界値問題版"を有効に使った。このような研究の最大の利点は、拡散粒子の運動という具体的なイメージを通じて、微分トポロジー的性質を直観的に解釈することができる点にある。
