高圧化学的手法を用いた小さな無機分子の酸化還元挙動に関する研究

研究概要	生体内の反応に関わる無機小分子には酸化還元反応を通して各種触媒(酵素)反応に関与するものが多い。今年度は、その中でも比較的大きな金属錯体を中心とする反応系に着目し、高圧化学的検討を行う上で重要な常圧下での反応について研究した。ブルー銅タンパクやその他の酵素における活性中心である銅イオンについて、その配位環境の変化と電子移動過程の相関は、長い間VauleeとWilliamsの仮説をもとに検討され、Entatic State of Viewとして受け入れられてきているが、その詳細な活性化機構については全くと言って良いほど解明されていない。今年度は、比較的簡単な二座配位子であるDMPとDMBPを用いて、銅(I)と銅(II)の電子交換に関わる構造変化の過程を詳細に検討し、以下のような結論を得た。 (1) 比較的柔軟な構造を持つこれらの錯体では、銅(II)の構造変化が相対的に低エネルギーで起こり、共有結合性の高いCu(I)錯体の配意廃配位構造変化は起こらない。 (2) 銅(II)の構造変化が起こった後に、非常に速い速度で外圏的な電子の移動が起こる。 (3) このような、いわゆるGatedな挙動を取る原因は、直接的な電子交換においては反応の非断熱性が大きく、活性化の山が100kJmol^<-1>を超えるためである。銅(II)における構造変化に伴う活性化のエネルギーは、配位構造が歪んだテトラゴナルなものから、電子移動に有利な電子相関を与えるテトラヘドラルなものになる時に相当するため、Cu(II)錯体の拡散反射スペクトルの測定を行い、そのd-d遷移に起因する配位子場安定化エネルギーを計算した。その結果、歪んだテトラゴナルなものから、電子移動に有利な電子相関を与えるテトラヘドラルなものになる変化相当する自由エネルギー変化を定量的に算出し、実験値との整合性を検証することができた。さらにGatedな反応における交差反応と交換反応の関係を表す式を初めて導出し、従来報告されて来ている交換反応の実測値と交差反応から計算される値とが一致することを証明した。
