研究概要	光合成アンテナ系でのエネルギー転移過程について,幾つかのアプローチを行い,結果を得た. 1. 他の酸素発生型光合成生物と比較して極めて特異的なアンテナ系を持つクリプト藻について,エネルギー転移過程を,定常状態の蛍光スペクトルと時間分解蛍光スペクトル法で解析した.その結果,複数のエネルギー転移過程が存在すること,光化学系IIクロロフィルa(Chl a)に特徴的なバンドが存在することが明らかとなった.このChl aはクリプト藻と同じくチラコイド膜のルーメン側にアンテナ色素を持つ渦鞭毛藻でのみ知られており,色素の存在位置に基づく共通の変化と理解することができた. 2. 光合成細菌のアンテナ系ではカロテノイドが機能する.その機作を知るために,単離したカロテノイドについて,フェムト秒蛍光アップコンバージョン法で,緩和過程を解析した. その結果,第2一重項励起状態への遷移の後,従来はまったく観測されていなかった同じ状態内での緩和(分子内振動緩和)が60フェムト秒の時定数で観測された.また蛍光としての緩和は,振動緩和が完了した後に起こるのではなく、励起直後から起こること(Hotluminescenceの存在)が明らかとなった.この時定数は約140フェムト秒で,励起移動と競合する値であることが明らかとなった.今後は,この速い緩和過程とエネルギー移動の競合過程を詳細に検討することとした.
