誘起表面における隠れた分子反応素過程の解析・制御と新物質相創製の試み

研究概要

1.Si(111)-7x7構造表面における反応素過程の解析
(1)HBO2分子の反応素過程:解離した原子を区別して解析することにより、HBO2分子の特異な反応過程の詳細を明らかにした。同分子は、他の多くの原子・分子吸着とは異なるサイトと選択的に反応し、解離したB原子が自己組織化をおこして、ネットワーク構造を形成することを見いだしたが、その際、歪みが大きな影響を及ぼすため、他のIII族元素の場合と異なり、√<3>構造を形成する際、中間的なdisiorder相が発現することが明らかになった。自己組織化を含む上記反応過程を制御する試みを展開している。
(2)酸素吸着反応:低温STMを用いることにより、80Kに於いて、酸素分子がこれまでに報告されていない新しい吸着相を取ることを見いだした。7x7構造のアドアトムと呼ばれる最表面の2原子が対になって吸着に関与し表面拡散する様子等も直接観察された。
2.Xe/Cu,Kr/Pt構造の解析
低温STMを用いることにより、Xe/Pt等の系とは異なり、原子間の相互作用が吸着量により変化するという新しい過程や、基板との電荷移動により定在波の変調等が発現すること等を見いだした。
3.低次元系における構造相転移の解析と制御
低温STMを用いることにより、(BEDT-TTF)2PF6表面で、バルクとは異なるCDWの発現や、超構造の揺らぐ様子をとらえることに成功し理論的な解析を行った。表面特有の構造を反映した2kF電荷密度波の発現を直接示した初めてのものである。表面層では、個々の分子が緩和して新たな構造を誘起し、緩和構造は結晶の対称性に関連すること等も明らかになった。フェムト秒レーザーで光誘起トンネル電流を測定すると、偏光依存性を持ち、減衰が非常に早い振動の存在を確認したが、相の揺らぎにより系が乱される様子を反映している可能性が高い。現在、これら結果を基に、光STMを用いた解析・制御による新しい物質相を創製する試みを展開している。
