研究概要

本研究では、ポータブルスペクトロメータを用いて体内放射能Cs-137および内部被曝線量を迅速にその場評価する方法を開発することを目的とする。このポータブルホールボディーカウンターの開発により、世界のいかなる地域の緊急時対応や、装置の無い地域でも人体放射能汚染の迅速な調査が可能になる。この試みはこれまでになされていない方法であり、土壌、食品そして人体放射能汚染の食物連鎖の調査をこのひとつの検出器で行える特徴がある。
本年度は、本器をロシア、チェリャビンスクの原爆プルトニウム製造施設マヤーク周辺核汚染地に暮らす住民の体内放射能測定に適用し、試験した。高レベル放射性廃液の自然貯蔵として利用されたカラチャイ湖からの放射性物質の舞上りで汚染したバシャークル村で、住民の体内量を測定した。その村森林中の表土の汚染はCs-137が76Bq/m^2だった。それに対する住民の体内Cs-137量は顕著に高くなく、検出限界値20Bq/kg以下であることがわかった。テチャ河の鮒の汚染は11kBq/kgだった。村民の現在の体内汚染は生物半減期100日のセシウムではなく、半減期の長いSr-90だった。テチャ河沿いのムスリュモボ村で、村民の前歯から733cpmのベータ線をカウントした。
検出器を放射線医学総合研究所の甲状腺ファントム(Ba-133,Cs-137)を利用して、校正した。これにより甲状腺内I-131のその場測定が可能となった。
