研究概要	本研究では、フラーレンに核反応の反跳エネルギーを利用してEC崩壊核種であるBe-7をケージ内に導入し、Be-7の半減期を精密に測定する実験を行った。当初、7Be@C60の常温状態で、また、冷凍機を用いて6Kにおいて半減期測定を行った。常温と冷却時の測定は同じ条件とするため、同じGe検出器、MCAシステム、コンピュータ等を用いた。また、測定時間は8時間ごとにrunが切られておこなわれた。結果として常温と冷却時で1%程度の変化が観測された。MCAシステムによるdead timeは2×10の-4乗程度であり、半減期測定にそれほど影響を与えないことが確認された。Be常温では53.5±0.1日と与えられているが、6Kの温度では52.98±0.05という結果が与えられた。この値は天然に存在するK-40の放射能の観測値が統計内で一定であることから信頼できる値と考えられる。フラーレンに内包された原子はその内側で高速で回転していると言われているが、最近の研究では80K以下になると内包された原子の運動が止まることが分かってきた。本測定の結果ではこの化学的なdinamicsとstaticな違いが現れているのかもしれない。これらの結果の違いは1%程度であり、今までの報告(たとえば、最近のBeF2の半減期は53.12±0.07日と報告されている)に比較するとかなり大きいものと言える。
