病原体と宿主の軍拡共進化の理論的研究-分子進化・個体群動態・性の進化への影響

研究概要	HIVなど抗原型が急速に変化するような病原体の流行をワクチン接種などによってくいとめるのは困難である。またイネやコムギの病原体に対する抵抗品種の導入は、抵抗性品種に感染する新たな病原体系統を進化させる。本研究では宿主抵抗性と病原体のビルレンスの遺伝子=遺伝子相互作用をもとにした共進化を理論的に解析することにより、急速に進化する病原体の流行予測と予防について検討した。また病原体が集団の存続や、遺伝的多様性、性の進化、個体群動態に及ぼす影響を検討した。 [宿主抵抗性と病原性ビルレンスの共進化]-イネやコムギと寄生性菌類との関係にみられるような、病原体のビルレンスと宿主抵抗性の遺伝子対遺伝子相互作用のもとでの共進化の過程を、多遺伝子座の集団遺伝学モデルで解析した。抵抗性とビルレンスの共進化サイクルやハプロタイプの多型と非同期振動の条件などを明らかにした(Proc.R.Soc.Lond.B投稿中)。また、生体防除で問題になっている宿主と寄生蜂の包囲作用を巡る共進化課程とその個体群動態への影響を明らかにした(Sasaki & Godfray 1999)。病原体との共進化のもとで有性生殖が有利になるという性の進化の「赤の女王」仮説を、遺伝子対遺伝子相互作用のもとで理論的に検討した。(Sasaki,in press). [空間構造と病原体の進化]-空間構造が病原体のビルレンスの進化にどう影響するかを、人口学的確率性を取り入れた個体ベースモデルで検討した。ペア近似などの解析的手法により空間構造のもとでトレードオフがなくても伝染率が中間の値に進化すること、距離の離れた個体間の感染の機会が増えるとより毒性の強い病原体が進化することを示した(Boots & Sasaki 1999;Haraguchi & Sasaki,2000).
