試料咀嚼に伴う咬筋活動増大の発現タイミングに及ぼす筋感覚遮断の影響

研究概要

咀嚼運動の調節機構を明らかにするために、麻酔したウサギの大脳皮質を電気刺激して誘発される顎運動を、咀嚼運動のモデルとして用いた。その咀嚼運動中に試料を咀嚼させ、そのときの筋活動の変化についての時間的要因を分析し、筋感覚および歯根膜感覚が咀嚼力調節に果たす役割を調べた。
テスト試料にはポリウレタンを用いて作製した硬さの異なる3種類の小片(厚さ2mm)を用意した。顎運動中に上下顎の臼歯部間にテスト試料を挿入し、咬筋、顎二筋の筋電図、顎運動を同時に記録した。その後、筋感覚あるいは歯根膜感覚を遮断し同様の記録を行った。その結果、以下のことが明らかとなった。
1.咬筋の積分活動量および活動持続時間は、いずれも試料咀嚼に伴い増大した。
2.試料咀嚼中における咬筋活動の増大において、その増大発現は咀嚼サイクル内において試料による歯への負荷が発生する前(あるいは単シナプス性反射の最短潜時で説明できないほど早期)に生じる場合が認められた。
3.そのような咬筋での早期の活動量増大において、その増大発現タイミングを分析したところ、発現タイミングは、(1)試料の硬さに応じては変化せず、(2)歯根膜感覚の遮断によっても変化しなかったが、(3)筋感覚の遮断後には遅延した。
以上の結果より、咀嚼力は咀嚼する物体の硬さに比例して変化するが、その調節の一部にはフィードフォワード的制御も関与していること、また、その制御には筋感覚が重要な役割を演じていることが示唆された。
