高度に配座を制御できる炭素・炭素結合形成反応を用いた拡張共役電子系の構築と性質

研究概要

我々はここ数年、「高度に配座を制御できる炭素・炭素結合形成反応」として[2+2]光環化付加反応を用いて、様々な長さのメチレン鎖あるいは位置で架橋されたフェナントレノファンを合成し、その配置と蛍光発光挙動を明らかにしてきた。
これまでは主に、2つの芳香環がほぼ完全に重なったsyn体について検討してきたが、本年度は芳香環の一部のみが重なったanti体のフェナントレノファンを分子設計し、その光物理的性質を検討した。
フェナントレン環のうちの2つまたは1つの六員環が重なったanti体を与えることが期待される1,3-ビス(7-ビニル-2-フェナントリル)プロパン1及び1,3-ビス(3-ビニル-9-フェナントリル)プロパン2を合成し、この分子内光反応を高圧水銀ランプにより検討した。その結果、syn体とanti体の異性体混合物からなるフェナントレノファン3,4が得られ、いずれの場合もHPLCにより両異性体の分離に成功した。
それぞれの蛍光スペクトルを室温、シクロヘキサン中で測定したところ、syn-3及びsyn-4においては、それぞれ405及び420nmに極大を持つブロ-ドなエキシマ-蛍光が観測された。一方、syn-3及びsyn-4の場合でも、対応するsyn体の場合と比較して10及び13nm短波長シフトしているもののエキシマ-蛍光が観測され、モノマ-蛍光は観測されなかった。このように、2つのフェナントレン環がほぼ平行に位置している場合には、フェナントレン環のうちの1つの六員環が重なったanti体であってもエキシマ-蛍光を与えることが明らかとなった。
