研究概要

総括班の役割は、本特定研究の各計画班活動の調整・連携を図るとともに、本研究が中心を担っている国際共同研究GAMEの推進を図ることである。GAME国内実行委員会活動のサポートおよびGAME国内・国際事務局の運営は、したがって、本総括班が中心に担ってきた。今年度は3年間の特定領域研究最終年度として、また、GAME(第1期)のまとめの年度として、第5回のGAME国際科学会議を名古屋(愛知県産業貿易館)で10月3-5日に開催した。国内外から約200人の研究者が参加し、活発な研究発表と討議が行われた。また、これに先立って第6回GAME国際科学パネル(GISP)を、国内外のパネル委員・専門家・オブザーバー計40人の出席のもとに、10月1-2日に開催した。この会議では、これまでのGAMEの総括と今後の方策・計画が検討され、GAME第2期計画が提案され、承認された。
国内研究集会は1月に京都で3日間にわたって開催され、GAME各グル-プから計36の研究発表がなされた。また、この会議には4人の招待評価委員に参加していただき、貴重な評価コメントを賜った。
このほか、各計画班の国内外での研究集会・ワークショップ開催や報告書出版も、各計画班と協力して行った。
