研究概要

まず、一次元モデルの検討では、凍土の扱える一次元陸面過程モデルを開発すると共に、チベットでの観測データを用いて、地表面熱収支の検討を行った。その結果、観測値に較べてモデルでは、顕熱フラックスが大きくなっていた。その理由の検討は、今後の課題となっている。
メソモデルの利用に関しては、次の3点で進展が見られた。
(1)まず、高分解能領域モデルを、日本全体で開発する動きは、共同研究として組織化が行われ,気象庁気象研究所の非靜力学モデルを軸に発展させることが決定された。
(2)また、具体的な応用例として、タイ、バンコク付近の降雨の日変化を対象としたシミュレーションが行われた。タイ中央部での降雨の日変化のピークは、深夜に起きることが多い。この事実は、海陸風による降雨が陸上では夕方になることを考えると、何らかの原因があると考えられる。そこで、タイを対象として2次元のメソモデルを走らせた結果,タイ西部の山岳に夕方発生する降水に伴う冷気流がタイ平野に氾濫して、空気を押し上げ深夜に対流を発生させることが示唆された。
(3)チベット高原上に生じる雲の日変化を衛星データに観測すると、モンスーン期の早朝のチベット高原上やヒマラヤ山脈の南面では低い雲が生じていることが分る。これに対し、メソモデルを適応して計算してみると,前者は湿った空気の強制上昇、後者は、チベット高原の夜間冷却が関与している可能性が示唆された。
大気大循環モデルを用いた研究では、分解能を変化させながら、チベット高原やタイ・中国などの複雑な陸面地形を通した顕熱・潜熱フラックスの変化を計算した。この結果を、メソスケールモデルでのフラックスとの比較を今後行う予定である。
