研究概要	(1)非晶性ラセミポリマーと結晶性キラルポリマーのブロック共重合:L-リンゴ酸とグリコール酸単位からなる6員環状モノマー3-[(benzyloxycarbonyl)methyl-1,4-dioxane-2,5-dione](BMD)、および、グリコール酸と[R]-3-ヒドロキシ酪酸単位からなる新規7員環状モノマー[R]一4-methyl-1,5-dioxepane-2,6-dione([R]一MDP)の2種の環状ジエステルモノマーを合成した。これらの環状ジエステルモノマーの開環重合性を検討するとともに、[RS]-β-butyrolactone(βBL)との開環共重合を行い、[RS]-poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)の改質について検討を加えた。また、Polylactide-block-Poly(oxyethylene)(PLA-PEG)を合成し、水中に分散させて微粒子水溶液を調製した。この微粒子水溶液を基板上にキャストし、熱処理(60℃,2h)することにより、微粒子は破壊され、より微小な数ナノ径の粒子状態を経てバンド構造に変化した。その他、直接重縮合法によるポリ-L一乳酸(PLLA)、ポリグリコール酸(PGA)の合成についても顕著な成果を得ている。 (2)生分解性ポリマーの結晶化と分解性の制御:PBSの誘導体としてpoly(butylene succinate-co-L-lactate)(PBSL)を用いて、リパーゼPS(Pseudomonas cepacia由来)による酵素分解を検討し、その酵素分解機構を明らかにした。この酵素分解においては、Exo型の分解機構が明らかとなり、高分子のコンホメーションと酵素の活性部位への取り込みについて検討した。 (3)生分解性ポリマーの複合化:PLLAを芯に、[R]-PHBを鞘に有する複合繊維を作製し、その繊維物性並びに分解性について検討を行った。さらに、PLLA、PBSを芯部に、PET、PBTを鞘部に有する複合繊維の繊維特性並びに表面加水分解について検討した。
