研究概要	界面制御による力学特性の改善と、相変態に及ぼす界面構造、粒界性格の影響を明らかにすると共に、粒界構造、界面制御による機能特性改善を行った。軽量耐熱材料として期待されているTiAlのAl-rich側組成に現れる、Al_3Ti_5およびAl_2Ti化合物の析出形態、L1_0型母相との界面整合関係、形成されるAPBを分類し、その選択性を観察することでこれら化合物の析出過程、析出機構を明らかにすると共に、高強度化に向けての適正形態を明らかにした。また、C11_bおよびC40型複相合金の界面を層状に制御する結晶成長プロセスを開発すると共に、析出過程でのバリアント選択性に起因する界面での歪みの連続性が、この複相シリサイドの力学特性の飛躍的改善に繋がることを明らかにした。また、機能特性と密接に関係するマルテンサイト変態と結晶粒界構造、粒界性格との関係を明らかにするため、Fe-Ni合金単結晶、ねじり粒界双結晶、対称傾角粒界双結晶を用い、マルテンサイト変態への粒界性格の影響、付加応力、予歪みの効果を詳細に調べた。傾角粒界の場合、マルテンサイト変態に際して、粒界を挟み変態歪みの連続性が維持されるバリアント選択が可能であり、そのため粒界は変態の核生成サイトを働くことを明らかにした。また、応力負荷、予歪み効果についても顕著な粒界性格依存性を認めた。NiAlの脆化の一因である粒界破壊を抑制するため、加工性に富むNi3Al相を粒界に析出させ、その界面での整合関係からのずれ角の関数として界面今強度を求めた。また、整合界面を得るための集合組織制御のための加工熱処理プロセスを開発した。また、磁気応答型形状記憶合金としてFe-Pd合金を取り上げ、粒界性格、結晶粒径と磁場付加方向と、発生磁歪との相関関係を明らかにし,巨大磁歪発現への形態学的な条件を示した。
