Ag添加Sm123超伝導永久磁石材料の性能向上と着磁技術に関する研究

研究概要	本研究は優れた捕捉磁場特性を持つ大型のAg添加Sm123超伝導体を開発し、それを冷凍機で30K程度まで冷却後、パルス磁場あるいは静磁場を用いて着磁することでNd-Fe-B永久磁石の10倍以上の強い永久磁石を生み出し、それを2個対向させてその空隙に2テスラ以上の磁場を発生させる超伝導永久磁石システムの完成を目標とした。 (1)平成11年度(1999年)には36mm径のAg添加Sm123超伝導体を開発しそれを冷凍機で30K程度まで冷却した後パルス磁場で着磁することにより、最大で3.8テスラの捕捉磁場を超伝導体表面で得ることに成功した。また30-77Kの温度領域でパルス磁場により超伝導体に侵入する磁束線のダイナミカルな挙動を解析し低温における磁束線の運動に関する貴重な基礎データを蓄積出来た。 (2)35Kの低温で静磁場着磁することで超伝導体表面に6.7テスラの磁場を捕捉させた後、その磁場を使って幅50mm厚さ5mmのNd-Fe-B板上を往復スキャンすることによりNd-Fe-B板が完全に着磁出来ることを示した。これは1999年11月18日付けの中日新聞夕刊に報道され話題を呼んだ。 (3)平成12年度(2000年)には36mm径のAg添加Sm123超伝導体を2個対向させた超伝導永久磁石システムを建設した。二つの超伝導体に挟まれた室温空間のギャップを2mmに選んだ場合、中心で2.8テスラの磁場を観測した。これは2000年1月24日の日刊工業新聞に紹介された。Nd-Fe-B永久磁石が発生する磁場0.3テスラの10倍近い磁場が室温空間に得られることで強磁場応用の道が拓けた。 (4)平成13年度(2002年1月)には60mm径のAg添加Sm123超伝導体の合成に成功した。これを対向型超伝導永久磁石システムに搭載することでギャップ5mmの室温空間に3.0テスラの磁場を発生させることに成功した。
