研究概要	【X線管+検出器回転型ガントリーの詳細設計と製作、調整】平成11年度の実験において、基準画像撮影時の被爆線量は従来比1/16〜1/50に低減したが、被爆線量目標値の110μSVとは12〜35倍の乖離があった。被爆線量をさらに軽減するため高感度型検出器を再検討した結果、高解像度(640x480ピクセル→2048x2048ピクセル)高濃度階調(10ビット→12ビット)検出器(デジタルフラットパネル)の採用を試み、撮影条件と撮影時間のトレードオフのテストを実施した。なお、X線管+検出器回転型ガントリーの詳細設計については基本設計を完了した。【骨体積密度(皮質骨&海綿骨)の測定および評価】骨体積密度を求める方法として、皮質骨等価物質よりなる体積密度既知のファントムと海綿骨等価物質よりなる体積密度既知のファントムを複数組み合わせることにより、皮質骨が海綿骨CT値に与える影響を定量的に数式化することが可能となり、海綿骨部の絶対体積密度を正確に得ることができた。【3次元画像による骨構造の評価】新規開発した高分解能マイクロフォーカスX線CT装置を用い、卵巣摘出によって生じるサル顎骨の変化、ビタミンD投与したマウスの骨格の変化、Gli遺伝子欠損マウスの骨格異常などを明らかにし、日本骨代謝学会、アメリカ骨代謝学会などにおいて報告した。また魚類咽頭歯の形態観察や血管造影剤を注入した馬の浅指屈腱内の血管分布立体的観察にも高分解能マイクロフォーカスX線CT装置が非常に有効である事を明らかにした。
