研究概要	研究代表者・納谷信と研究分担者・鎌田博行は、四元数双曲空間の離散変換群への応用を念頭において、CR幾何の四元数的類似について研究を行った。この研究に先だって、O.ビカールや納谷は、球面を含むあるクラスの実超曲面に適用可能な理論を提出していた。この研究では、一般の実超曲面に適用可能な理論の構築を目指し、従来の定義を修正することにより、CR構造、擬エルミート構造の四元数的類似を新たに定式化した。現在、田中-ウェブスター接続の四元数的類似物となるべき標準接続の一意存在の証明に取り組んでいるところである。この他にも、研究代表者および研究分担者は、本研究課題に関連する種々の研究を行い、様々な成果をあげることができた。その主なものは次のとおりである。金井雅彦は、離散群の球面への共形的作用について研究し、その局所剛性を力学系的手法により証明した。芥川和雄は、Spin^c幾何、とくにサイバーグ―ウィッテン理論の、シンプレクティック多様体の山辺不変量の評価への応用を与えた。太田啓史は、シンプレクティック多様体、とくにその擬正則曲線の研究を行い、ホモロジカル・ミラー予想を証明した。井関裕靖は、クライン群の極限集合のハウスドルフ次元の凸ココンパクト性の新しい十分条件を与えた。
