大規模野外操作系を用いた森林-河川生態系の相互補償関係の実験的検証

研究概要

13年度は、幌内川における操作実験を継続するとともに、3年間の研究成果の総括を行った。具体的には、研究の成果をアメリカ科学アカデミー紀要(Proceedings of Academy of Science of the United States of America)、Ecology Letters誌等に数編の原著論文として発表するとともに、米国プリンストン大学や日本生態学会でのシンポジウムで口頭発表した。さらに、研究成果の多くの部分は、今後、原著論文や学術本として発表、出版する予定である。また、本年度は、流域スケールでの河川における生産の陸域生態系への影響を評価する研究を行った。ここでは、苫小牧研究林周辺の3河川、さらに胆振地域の8河川流域を対象として、水生昆虫の昆虫食性鳥類群集の維持に果たす役割をこれまでより大規模なスケールで検討した。さらに、これまでの成果を基盤として、新たな研究計画の準備を進めた。とくに、河川と森林の相互作用と移入魚種との関係について、コロラド州立大学教授、カルト・ファウシュ氏との共同研究計画が進み、14年度より、NSF(米国科学基金)による、共同研究の開始が決定した。今後も、河川-森林エコトーンにおける生物群集の維持機構について、本研究補助による成果を元として新たな計画を進める。
