研究概要	平成11年度は、異なるウイルスの受容体に関する研究、及びウイルスとその受容体の相互作用について研究を行った。マウス肝炎ウイルス(MHV)の受容体は細胞接着分子のBgp1及びBgp2であるが、これらの分子を持たない細胞にもMHV感染細胞から感染が伝播すること(Bgp非依存性感染)が報告されている。本研究では、いくつかのMHV株のBgp非依存性感染を調べた所、効率よく感染する株と全く感染しない株が存在することが明かとなった。更に、この感染にはウイルス受容体結合蛋白が主要な役割を果たしていることも明らかにされた。また、内在性マウス白血病ウイルス(MuLV)とその受容体との相互作用に関する本年度の研究から、以下の事が明らかにされた。MuLVのエンベロープ蛋白と非常に類似性の高い蛋白で、マウスのMuLV抵抗性を担うFv-4^rにコードされた蛋白は、MuLV受容体に結合後、構造変化を起こす事が観察され、この現象はMuLVのみならずhuman immunodeficiency virus,simian immunodeficiency virusなど他のretrovirusでも認められることから、ウイルス感染初期の非常に重要な出来事である可能性が示唆された。海生動物から分離したインフルエンザウイルス(IFV)の受容体特異性を検討した所、これらの動物の肺に存在する受容体に特異的に結合する事が判明した。このことは、IFVの宿主特異性はその受容体レベルで決定される事を示唆している。
