研究概要

本研究は天然から生物付着阻害活性物質を探索および開発することを目的としている.海洋における生物汚損の初期の段階であるバイオフィルムの形成を制御することができればそれに引き続く大型生物の付着を制御することが可能になるのではないかと予想し,これを指標として活性物質の探索を行った.最近、沖縄県の今帰仁ではサンゴがカイメンに覆われて死んでゆく現象が起こっている.カイメンがサンゴを侵食していく際に,何らかの化学物質が関与していると考えられる.そこでこのカイメンに着目して抗菌性物質の探索を行ったところ、新規フェノール誘導体ナキジノールAを単離・構造決定することができた.この物質はグラム陰性の付着性細菌Rhodospirillum salexigens SCRC113に対して強い抗菌活性を示した.この物質と上記の生物現象の関わりについて今後検討する.また,スズ化合物に替わる船底塗料の開発が急務とされている今日,新しい機能性分子として期待がもたれる.現在,本物質の合成を行っている.化学構造が比較的単純なので,合成による量的供給は容易であると思われるので,今後本物質に関して野外実験を行ない,新しい生物付着阻害剤としての実用性について検討してゆく.なお,構造的に興味深いnakijinol Bも単離した.
また,沖縄県の座間味島で採集した未同定カイメンより抗菌性を指標として分離・精製を行ったところ,新規ブロモチロシン誘導体を単離・構造決定することができた.
