高次元の水素原子の波動関数の導出、表示、及びその物理的意味の発見

研究概要

われわれは、n次元の水素原子のシュレーディンガー方程式の解の縮重度の一般式を既に導出した。これは、化学者の帰納的直感に基づいて得られた代数的な処方箋であるが、この波動関数に数学的に厳密な裏付けを行うこと、及び得られた波動関数を動的にグラフィック表示するという二つの目的をもっている。
今年度は、主に後者の方に力点を置いた研究を行った。
(i)4次元の原子軌道関数の可視化表示
3次元の原子軌道の角度部分を可視化する方法として、極座標表示を直交座標系に変換後、等値曲面表示を行う方法を開発した。
(ii)アニメーション技法の開発
簡単な操作で、原子軌道のn次元のイメージを把握しやすくするアニメーション技術を、市販のQTVRというソフトウェアを利用して実現した。
(iii)原子軌道の縮重度とパスカルの三角形
n次元の原子軌道の縮重度が変形したパスカルの三角形によって表されることを既に見出しているが、微分方程式の解の代数的な構造の解析から、その数理的意味についての考察を若干進めることができた。
