研究概要

(1)コンフィギュレーションの異なる6種類のポリプロピレンオキシド(PPO)の2量体モデル化合物を合成し、炭素-13NMRの測定で得られたシグナルをそれぞれの化合物を構成する炭素原子に帰属した。γ-ゴーシュ効果に基づく統計力学計算で求めた化学シフトと対応する実験値を比較し、コンホメーションエネルギーを決定した。これまでの研究も含めて、分子内水素結合を示すコンホメーションエネルギーでPPOおよびモデル化合物のコンホメーションに依存する全ての物性を説明することができた。
(2)ケイ素系ポリマーとして、主鎖がSi-Si結合で連なり側鎖にn-アルキル基をもつ3種のポリシラン、すなわち、ポリジヘキシルシラン、ポリジブチルシラン、ポリメチルプロピルシランのΘ状態での特性比を光散乱測定で求めた。分子軌道法と分子動力学法で評価したコンホメーションエネルギーから統計力学計算で特性比を求め、実験にほぼ一致する結果を得、側鎖構造と分子鎖の剛直性・吸光特性との関係を議論した。
(3)ネマチック液晶に溶解したn-アルカンなどの鎖状分子から観測されたプロトン-プロトン双極子結合定数、重水素NMR四極子分裂幅、オクタン酸ナトリウム/1-デカノール/水の3成分系リオトロピック液晶中の両親媒性分子から得られた重水素四極子分裂幅を統計力学に基づく最大エントロピー法でシミュレーションし、これら鎖状分子、両親媒性分子のコンホメーション特性を液晶相の異方性や凝集構造との関係から議論した。
