研究概要	(1)我々の研究グループのうち、研究代表のグループとDr.Nair(インド)のグループとの共同研究でO3:K6血清型の新型腸炎ビブリオクローンが1996年にインドの下痢患者から多数発見され、続いて東南アジアから日本への旅行者からも分離された。今年度の研究ではさらに、多国籍共同研究を展開し、この新型菌がバングラデッシュ、ラオス、タイ、韓国、台湾、日本および、米国へ伝播していることを確認した。この新型クローンの同定には従来毒素遺伝子タイプ(tdh,trh)、O:K血清型、arbitorarily primed PCR法を併用してきたが、今回toxR遺伝子の塩基配列を徹底的に解析し、新クローンを1ステップで同定できるPCR法を開発した。これにより、このクローンの国際的伝播(pandemic)を確認したのみならず、新クローンからO4:K68血清型およびO1:KUT血清が1997年頃に派生してきたことを発見した。日本を訪問する海外旅行者で新型クローンに感染している患者のうち、タイから到着する患者が多いことからタイの環境中に新型クローンの検出を試みた。抗K6抗体を利用した免疫磁気ビーズ法を用いることにより、現地の新鮮な赤貝から新型O3:K6クローンを分離することに成功した。現在同じ環境中に派生型のクローンが存在するか否かを明らかにし、このクローンに適している環境を調査中である。 (2)研究代表のグループとマレーシアの研究グループが最近インドから輸入されて市販されている牛肉が高頻度に大腸菌O157:H7に汚染していることを報告した。今回隣接するタイでも市販牛肉および牛の糞便から同菌を分離した。現在アジア地域におけるこの菌の分布環境および感染した患者が存在するか否かを調査中である。 (3)研究代表のグループとマレーシアの研究グループは、インド由来のマレーシア国内市販牛肉から、バンコマイシン耐性腸球菌も分離し、食品の安全性と環境中の菌の分布を調べる必要性を強調した。
