研究概要

新興・再興感染症として世界的規模で流行、汚染地域拡大が年々深刻化してきている重篤な寄生虫病として包虫症(単包虫症、多包虫症)ならびに襄虫症とがある。本研究では旭川医科大学寄生虫学講座で独自に開発した多包虫症、単包虫症、有鉤襄虫症それぞれについての鑑別血清診断法を中国(多包虫症、単包虫症、有鉤襄虫症)、インドネシア(有鉤襄虫症)、エクアドル(有鉤襄虫症)それぞれの流行国における疫学調査・研究に応用し、現在、国際的に最も信頼性が高い診断法であるという評価を得ている。昨年9月にアルゼンチンで開催された第19回国際エキノコックス症会議に本研究代表者、伊藤亮が「多包虫症単包虫症、有鉤襄虫症についての血清学的鑑別診断法」と題する招聘講演を要請され、この発表論文が会議における最優秀論文賞に選ばれている。遺伝子解析については研究分担者、中尾稔が中心となり多包虫条虫、有鉤条虫ミトコンドリアDNA全塩基配列の解読に世界で最初に成功し、世界各地(アジア、アフリカ、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ)で採取されている株(strain)について遺伝子解読、分子疫学共同研究へと新たな展開が始まっている。現在、中国(チベット民族を対象とする中国、ニュージーランド、アメリカ、イギリス、スイス、デンマーク、日本7カ国共同の包虫症研究)、インドネシア(インドネシア、イギリス、日本3カ国共同の有鉤襄虫症研究)、タイ、インド、エクアドル、南アフリカでの有鉤襄虫症疫学調査を展開すべく、各国の共同研究者との調整をしている。血清診断用抗原として有鉤襄虫遺伝子組換え抗原をすでに作製しており、現在多包虫特異抗原(Em18)ならびに包虫属特異抗原(AntigenB)についての遺伝子組換え抗原作製を計画している。
