研究概要	本研究成果の概要は下記の5項目としてまとめられる。 1.多包虫症、単包虫症、有鉤嚢虫症についての血清学的鑑別診断法の確立:基本的には世界で最も信頼性が高い血清診断法をそれぞれに対して確立している。多包虫症は1999年4月から施行されている新しい感染症予防法の下で、届け出が義務づけられた第4類感染症に含まれているが、外科的摘出病巣から多包虫病巣を確認する、術後診断に基づいている。旭川医大方式により術前確定血清診断が可能な現在、術前確定診断無しの外科的処置だけは避けなければならない。誤診例が一例もなく、国際的にも高く評価されている旭川医大方式を標準検査法として普及させるべき時期であると提案したい。2.遺伝子組換え抗原を用いる診断法についても基礎的研究はほぼ完了している。今後はキット化に向けた研究が中心になる。3.疫学調査への展開:中国(多包虫症、単包虫症、嚢虫症)、インドネシア(嚢虫症)、アフリカ(タンザニア、モザンビーク)(嚢虫症)、アメリカ(メキシコ、エクアドル)(嚢虫症)を中心に、エキノコックス症、嚢虫症に関する調査研究、技術指導に参加した。WHOを通して、ベトナムにおける嚢虫症、単包虫症対策への協力要請が来ている。4.多包条虫、有鉤条虫それぞれのミトコンドリアDNA全塩基配列の解読に世界で最初に成功し、分子生物学的基礎研究(条虫によるアミノ酸情報の読み始め、読み終えコドンのユニークな利用)から分子疫学(世界各地における寄生虫の適応拡散、病原性の多様性等)への応用展開が可能になった。5.1999年ならびに2001年のエキノコックス症国際会議、2000年のNATO Advanced Research Workshop、バンコックで開催された人畜共通寄生虫病会議等でこれらの寄生虫病に関する血清診断法の進展について招聘講演、シンポジスト、座長を引き受けてきている。
