負曲率多様体への調和写像と曲面

研究概要

本研究は、(負定曲率-1の)3次元双曲空間形H^3内の平均曲率一定(CMC)曲面のKenmotsu型表現公式を研究する過程で得られた、ある負曲率多様体N^nへの調和写像について考察し、CMC曲面の研究へ還元することを目的として始められた。
3次元定曲率空間形内の曲面のKenmotsu型表現公式とは、ambient spaceに応じて適宜定められる'Gauss写像'によって、曲面を(局所的)表現したものである。我々は、定曲率空間形の等長変換群が正規直交標構束に推移的に作用しているという事実のもと、統一的メカニズムの解明とともにKenmotsu型表現公式を完成した。ここで、CMC曲面の'Gauss写像'は、2次元単位球面、双曲平面あるいは、ある特殊な計量hをもつ2次元球面への調和写像として特徴付けられるものである。この計量hが単位円板上に(完備ではない負曲率)Riemann計量を定める場合があり、それを自然に高次元化した(n次元非完備)負曲率多様体N^nが考えられる。双曲空間形間の調和写像の無限遠でのDirichlet問題の解決にならい、m次元双曲空間形D^mからこのN^nへの調和写像に対する(無限遠での)Dirichlet問題を考えて、解の存在を示した。m=n=2の場合にはこれを応用して、H^3内のCMC H(|H|<1)の(完備な円板型)曲面の存在を、無限遠でのノイマン型条件の下で示せることが判った。
しかし、高次元の場合のN^nへの調和写像については、2次元の場合のような幾何的な意味付けが未だ判っておらず、研究を継続中である。
