ジアリールエテンをスイッチングユニットとして用いた電子スピン系論理回路の構築

研究概要

ニトロニルニトロキシドを2個、ジベンゾチエニルエテンにp-フェニレンカップラーを用いて連結させたビラジカル1aを合成した。π共役系の長さを調節することにより、スイッチングをESRを用いて検出することに成功した。
開環体1aは313nmの紫外光により閉環体1bに、1bは578nmの可視光で1aにそれぞれ変換され、可逆なフォトクロミズムを示した。分取した閉環体との比較により、光定常状態での変換率は99%であることが分かった。
フォトクロミズムに伴うESRスペクトル変化を追跡した。開環体1aは、複雑な15本線を示し、交換相互作用が超微細結合定数と同程度であることを支持している。366nmの紫外光を照射すると直ちに9本線のスペクトルが現れ、光定常状態のスペクトルは9本線となった。閉環体1bにおいて、交換相互作用の値は超微細結合定数よりも十分大きいことを示している。開環体由来のシグナルは光定常状態では観測されず変換率が非常に高いことを反映している。光定常状態に達した試料に対して、520nm以上の可視光を照射すると元の開環体のスペクトルに戻った。スペクトルのシミュレーションの検討により、開環体と閉環体で2桁程度の交換相互作用の変化があることが分かった。
