研究概要	アジア地域における消化管がんの予防対策の推進に資するため、北東アジア三国(日・中・韓国)の6研究施設(今年度から中国広東省の一施設を追加)が協力し、消化管がんの各国・地域における共通要因と特異的要因を探索する民族疫学研究を1999年度から5年計画で展開している。昨年度に引き続き今年度も三国5地域の中核病院において、地域特異性を考慮した半定量的食物摂取頻度調査票(SQFFQ)を用いた大腸がん、および胃がんの症例対照研究を継続実施している。そこでは一般的な食・生活習慣に関する情報収集、遺伝子多型を検索するためのDNA材料、および血清脂質をはじめとした生化学的検索のための血漿、などを収集している。今年度までに収集した症例・対照数の達成度は、1)愛知県:県がんセンター病院の初診患者約7,000名分(1,300例のがん患者以外が比較対照群)の中で胃がん患者は363例、大腸がん患者は313例で目標数400例の8割達成、2)韓国:ソウル国立大付属病院では大腸がん患者群230例と比較対照患者群450例で大腸がんについては目標数の約8割達成、3)中国:江蘇省では腫瘤院病院と准安市立病院を中心に大腸がん症例群と同地域に居住する性・年齢をマッチングさせた比較対照群の目標値300対について調査終了、四川省重慶市の第三軍医大学では目標値の5割達成、遼寧省では研究開始が遅れており約3割の調査終了となり、来年度までに達成できた対象を用いて当初目的の解析を行い報告する予定である。一方、今年度は中国の南京市と韓国ソウル市で開発したSQFFQ、およびその妥当性などに関する基礎的情報を報告した。さらに、日本で並行実施している胃がん、大腸がんの分子疫学的研究の成果、特に胃がんの主要な原因と考えられているヘリコバクターピロリ菌感染や喫煙習慣など生活習慣要因と種々の遺伝子多型との交互作用などについて明らかにしてきた。
