研究概要

水素結合とπ-d電子系を利用した自己組織的に集積可能な超分子構造体の構築、またその制御と機能発現を目的として、既に幾つかの特異形態集積型金属錯体を設計・合成してきた。本年度はこれらの組織構造体をもとに水素結合とπ-d電子系を組み合わせた三重水素結合によるナノスケール空間の創成を以下のような研究計画により遂行した。その結果、三重水素結合によるナノスケール空間の創成について以下のようなことが明らかとなった。配位結合の幾何学的特性と水素結合の直線性を利用して、ナノスケールレベルでの空間の構築研究が活発に行われており、本研究では、そのような空間の設計に金属錯体を水素結合で連結した系を考案した。即ち、コバルト(III)のビウレタト錯体と銅(II)のビグアニダド錯体の間で三重水素結合を形成させ、金属の軸位をピリジン誘導体で配位結合させた系の合成に成功しており、その結晶構造の解析にも成功した。このような水素結合で自己組織化的に構築されたナノスケール空間の形成の構造的確認は初めてのことである。この空間への小分子等の取り込みの検討を行っており、この空孔が軸配位子を適当に選択することにより大きさを制御でき、取り込み可能な分子の選択もできることが明らかとなった。従って、静電的な相互作用により分子を捕捉する通常のゼオライトと異なり、金属イオンの導入および配位子の適当な設計により特定分子の選択的捕捉・活性化を可能にすることから、多機能空間への展開が期待される。このような系の構築は空孔への小分子の吸着・反応という単なるゼオライト機能の発現の面だけでなく、環境問題・エネルギー問題というグローバルな面からも期待される。
