太陽風-地球磁気圏相互作用によるエネルギーの侵入・結合・変換過程の研究

研究概要	北米、シベリア、日本、東南アジア、オーストラリアの環太平洋域の多点の観測点と南米、アジア、アフリカの経度の隔った磁気赤道沿いの多点の観測点とを組織的に組み合わせた全地球的規模の地上ネットワーク観測網を用いて、特に、太陽風-地球磁気圏相互作用により極冠域、磁気圏境界領域、そして磁気圏尾から内部磁気圏に侵入した電磁場擾乱と粒子エネルギーが、電離大気と中性大気が混合する地球大気遷移圏(電離圏,熱圏)の擾乱にどのように結合・変換されていくのかその時空間的機構と過程について、また、中・低緯度の中性大気風によりダイナモ領域に発生するSq電流系のグローバルな成分との分離・定量化をおこなうための観測・海外学術調査を行うことが本年度の目的であった。210度磁気子午線沿いのオーロラ帯のカナダ、シベリア地区やハワイでの光学・電磁場観測を充実し、また、赤道域のフィリピン、ミクロネシア諸島での大気電場、電磁環境の調査を重点的に行い、全地球的規模の観測を実施した。各地点での地磁気・ULF波動の観測は、相手国共同研究者、現地協力者と協議し、S-RAMP, EPICの国際共同研究プログラムのひとつとして継続し、協同観測を実施した。平成13年度の学術調査は以下のように実施され、当初の目的の成果を上げることができた。 1)ロシアのヤクーツク宇宙物理研究所やアラスカ大学と共同で、オーロラ帯のチキシー、チョコラダーク、コテルニー島、並びにカツビューで光学・電磁環境の継続調査を行い、オーロラ嵐や太陽風変動に伴う電磁場変動、ULF波動の観測を始めた。 2)ロシアのカムチャッツカの宇宙科学研究所と共同で、パラッンカ及びマガダンで電磁環境の調査を行い、中緯度での地磁気・ULF波動の同時観測を継続実施した。 3)グローバルモードの電磁場変動の特異点となるプラズマポーズ付近のシベリアのズリヤンカで電磁場観測の継続調査を行った。 4)カムチャッカのバラッンカの磁気共役点である、オーストラリアのキャンベラ郊外地、母子里とその磁気共役点のオーストラリアのバーズビルで地磁気変動、低周波帯電磁波、並びに高エネルギー入射粒子の同時観測を行った。 5)アフリカ、中国、韓国、モンゴルなど中緯度における地磁気観測やハワイでの光学観測を充実させた。 6)オーストラリアの地磁気・ULF波動の観測点(バーズビル、ウェイパー、アデレード、ダーウィン、ダルビィ、リーマンス、カタニング)で観測機器の点検・調整及び機器の更新を行うとともに、宇宙線観測を実施した。 7)インドネシアのビァク島、西方で同緯度のポンチィアナ、及びポンチィアナの低緯度側のワトコセの3地点での地磁気・ULF波動の観測に加え、雷・大気電場環境の予備調査を行った。ビァク島では、地磁気長期観測をスタートさせた。 8)西太平洋の磁気赤道付近に位置するポナペ、ヤップ、フィリピン(セブ、ダバオ)の赤道ジェット電流と地磁気・ULF波動の定常観測、電離層レーダ観測を実施した。 9)磁気赤道に位置するブラジルのサンルイス、ペルーのアンコン、アフリカの南アフリカ連邦、ザンビアと西太平洋の多点でのグローバルモードの電磁気擾乱の同時観測のために磁力計の点検・調査を行い、観測を実施した。 10)各国のISTP計画による人工衛星との組織的な共同観測のための打ち合わせと衛星データ収集を行った。 11)カナダ、ノルウエーの高緯度、オーロラ帯にて、地磁気観測・オーロラ観測・電波観測を行った。 12)ベトナム(ハノイ)等でのワークショップ、国際学会にて、これまでの研究成果について発表、情報交換を行い大きな成果を得ることができた。
