研究概要

最終年度の14年度は、210度磁気子午線沿いのオーロラ帯のカナダ、シベリア地区やハワイでの光学・電磁場観測を充実し、また、赤道域のフィリピン、ミクロネシア諸島での電磁環境の調査を重点的に行い、全地球的規模の観測を実施した。各地点での地磁気・ULF波動の観測は、相手国共同研究者、現地協力者と協議し、S-RAMP, EPICの国際共同研究プログラムのひとつとして継続し、また2004年から始まるCAWSES国際共同研究の準備協同観測も実施することができた。
1)オーロラ帯のカツビュー、チキシー、チョコラダークとコテルニー島でオーロラ全天カメラ、分光器とイメージングリオメータの再点検・調整後オーロラの観測を行った。
2)チョコラダークとマガダンで低周波電磁波動の観測を実施した。
3)ロシアのシベリア地域の6地点で地磁気・ULF波動観測機器の再点検・調整後、観測を継続した。
4)西太平洋域の北京、韓国、モンゴル、グァム、フィリピン、パプァ・ニューギニア及びインドネシアの3地点で地磁気・ULF波動、地磁気長期変動の観測を継続した。
5)オーストラリアの8地点で地磁気・ULF波動、及びバーズビルで低周波電磁波観測、ホバートにて宇宙線観測を継続実施した。
6)カムチャッカのパラッンカとオーストラリアのキャベラ近郊で、ULF波動、低周波電磁波の共役点同時観測を行った。
7)アフリカ、南米、西太平洋域で磁力計の再点検・調整を行い、磁気赤道域の変動磁場観測を継続実施した。
8)オーストラリア地域の共同研究観測の責任者であるニューキャッスル大学教授B.J.Fraser博士を招へいし、データの共同解析、研究成果の検討を行うとともに、共同研究の成果・発展に関する協議を行った。
10)ハワイの宇宙監視観測所で、惑星や衛星の光学観測を行った。
11)カナダ、ノルウエーの高緯度、オーロラ帯にて、地磁気観測・オーロラ観測・電波観測を行った。
12)南アフリカでのワークショップにて、発表、情報交換を行った。
13)電磁・粒子環境の変動の予測の為には、リアルタイムで観測データを収集し、解析することが必要である。定常的な高精度観測の継続と合わせて、リアルタイム・データ収集システムに関する具体的な検討(例、衛星回線または公衆通信回線の利用)を相手側共同研究者と行った
14)観測研究成果のまとめるのためのCAWSES国際共同研究集会を九州大学国際交流プラザで開催した。
