研究概要	我々の研究課題は単一層高温超伝導銅酸化物LSCOで発見された電荷ストライプ構造が他の高温超伝導銅酸化物でも実現しているかどうかの検証をすることが主たる目標である。その一つがCaドープYBCOでの絶縁体・金属転移付近の単結晶を育成することであった。今まで存在しない中性子散乱研究に供される位の大型・純良単結晶育成から始めた。現在の引き上げ育成法を用いて育成をするという一年間の我々の実験では、この方法で不可欠な坩堝とCaとの化学反応の影響が避けられないことが判明し、今のところ進展はない。我々はこれと並行してYBCOの60Kの転移温度を示す単結晶に電荷ストライプの存在を示唆する報告が世間を騒がせているので、その存在を確かめる実験に取りかかっている。今迄の実験では報告されている電荷ストライプに関係する格子の変調はない。発表されている報告は恐らくYBCOに存在するCuO鎖の酸素イオンの局所規則状態と見間違えたのではないかと想像している。そこで、電荷ストライプの影響を直接受ける格子振動モードの異常を観測するべく、高エネルギー非弾性中性子散乱の実験を進めている。これには結晶の歪み方向を揃えた特別の単結晶をストレスを掛けて熱処理をする特殊な方法で用意した。この結晶を使った中性子散乱実験で判ったことは直接電荷ストライプを証明する実験的な証拠はないが、電子と格子との強い相互作用によると格子振動異常が確認され、現在、温度変化などの詳細なデータの収集を行っている。
