変位電流および光第2次高調波の同時測定による界面分子膜の誘電特性の評価

研究概要

有機分子の持つ電子・光学的機能を分子レベルで活用する技術を分子膜の極限の薄さを持つ単分子膜あるいは分子超構造膜において実現することは、有機エレクトロニクスひいては有機分子素子工学分野の基盤技術として重要である。本研究では、誘電体電子物性の立場から、剛直性分子集合体による物質界面での線形誘電性および非線形誘電性について、両者を同時に評価することができる計測システム用いて、(1)物質界面におけるナノメトリックな分子膜の電気的および光学的性質を計測する技術を確立すること、(2)これに基づいてその評価方法を確立すること、(3)さらに、分子モデルを用いてナノ界面に特有な誘電的性質を明らかにすることを目指した。具体的には、(1)柔軟な生体膜関連の脂質分子、剛直性の分子として液晶関連のシアノビフェニール系の分子に着目し、水面上で形成される単分子膜の圧力刺激に対する変位電流を計測し、申請者らが提案している分子膜モデルを用いて変位電流波形の解析を行うことにより、分子膜配向度<cosθ>および双極子能率を評価できた。(2)の水面上単分子膜に対して、変位電流測定に加えて、第2次光高調波計測を同時に行い、分子膜の配向度(3<cos^2θ>-1)/2)を光学的手法により決定できた。(3)アゾベンゼンデンドリーマー分子膜について、光刺激による光変位電流解析をおこない、シス、トランス、中間状態の3状態モデルを用いて実験結果が説明できることを示した。
