研究概要	ヘマグルチニンは三量体の糖蛋白質で、それぞれのサブユニット上部にシアル酸を認識する,結合部位を持ち、そのシアル酸結合ポッケトがほぼ40数Åの長さの正三角形の頂点に位置した構造を持っている事っていることがX線結晶構造解析によって明らかになっている。またヘマグルチニンブロッカーとして高い効果を得るためには、多価性とヘマグルチニンの3箇所のポケットにちょうどはまり込むようにシアル酸を配置することが提唱されている。これらの情報を基に私達は、正確に三カ所のシアル酸結合ポケットをブロックするように空間的にシアル酸を配置した、環状糖ペプチドを新しいヘマグルチニンブロッカーとして設計した。この化合物は<cyclo(Ser-Gly-Gly-Gln-Ser-His-Asp)_3>および<cyclo(Gly-Ser-Ser-Gln-Ser-Ser-Gly)_3>(化合物2)配列を持つ21残基の環状ペプチドのグルタミン残基にガングリオシドGM3の糖鎖部分として知られ<Neu5Ac(2→3)Gal(1→4)Glc>配列を持つ糖鎖を、スペーサーを介して導入したもので、ヘマグルチニンのシアル酸結合部位に合わせて三角形状にシアル酸を配置してあるので高い効果が期待できる化合物である。
