研究概要	x線におけるパルサーの観測を推進した。(1)電波パルサーPSR J0631+1036からx線パルスを始めて検出、(2)ミリ秒パルサーPSR J0218+4232からは強いX線パルスを検出、(3)PSR B1937+21からはx線放射の検出、(4)PSR J1744-1134については上限値を与えた。これらは理論的に予想されるパルサー磁気圏での粒子加速を裏付けるだけでなく加速機構にも強い制限を加えるものである。(5)PSR 1937+21については電波のインターパルスに同期してx線がでていることを突き止めた。これは、いわゆるアウターギャップ加速機構を支持する結果となった。加速理論に於いては、電子陽電子対が生成する中でどのようにして電場が維持されるかについて理論研究を推進した。アウターギャップモデルには、電場と電子陽電子対プラズマが共存する系がつくられることを示し、ポーラーキャプモデルについては電子陽電子対プラズマによって電場のスクリーンが効かないため従来のような加速モデルがなりたたないことを示した。アウターギャップモデルでは理論的なx線とガンマ線の光度およびスペクトルの数値予測を行なった。陽子、電子、陽電子からなる多成分系の相対論的流体力学の基礎について考察するとともに、パルサー星雲の形成過程や物理的諸過程について電波銀河ローブとの比較検討を行った。中性子星内部構造との関連においては、中性子星内部に存在する超流体渦糸の性質と振る舞いについて研究を行った。関連天体として、SS433にみられるジェットの構造と放射、ガンマ線バーストの残光現象についてジェットモデルの観点から研究も行った。
