量子ヘテロスピン分子集合系の分子磁性と純有機フェリ磁性体の分子設計

研究概要

有機フェリ磁性体を構築するための新奇な分子設計アプローチを提案した.それに基づいてモデル分子を合成し,固体集合系の磁気的性質を詳細に調べた.さらに,モデルスピンハミルトニアンを用いた数値計算を行ない,有機分子系におけるフェリ磁性スピン整列が強磁性スピン整列と等価であることを明らかにした.
1.基底3重項(S=1)のπビラジカルとπモノラジカル(S=1/2)をσ結合で連結した弱結合系トリラジカルを合成した.X線結晶構造解析によって,交互1次元分子鎖の存在を明らかにした.さらにmKオーダーの極低温領域まで磁化率を測定した結果,σ結合連結系の純有機物としては初めて,フェリ磁性特有の磁化の発散現象を観測した.
2.ハイゼンベルグスピンハミルトニアンを用いて,1次元フェリ磁性スピン系の磁気比熱(熱容量)・磁気エントロピーおよびスピン分極構造を計算した.S=1のビラジカルとS=1/2のモノラジカルの反強磁性交互1次元鎖について,比熱とエントロピーの温度変化を調べた結果,単位胞あたり実効的にS=1/2スピン1つ分の磁気的自由度が生じることを明らかにした.また,この実効的なS=1/2スピンの間には,強磁性的な相互作用が働くことがわかった.S=1のビラジカルとS=1/2のモノラジカルのフェリ磁性スピン整列は,実効的なS=1/2スピンの強磁性整列と等価であることを明らかにした.
