研究概要	本研究は、アジア環太平洋地域における風土病(地域に共通した疾病)の発症予防と治療の為に、先端生命科学分野での研究を速やかに展開させるべく、研究プロジェクトについての調査研究と共同研究を計画する。この為に、アジア環太平洋地域の国際分子生物学ネットワーク(A-IMBN)の代表的研究者との情報の交換、研究試料の収集と共用、研究者交流を頻繁に行い、効率的かつ経済的に遂行する。その結果、日本の研究者がアジア環太平洋地域において貢献する。本年度は、アジア環太平洋地域において重点的に取り上げるべきテーマについて、班員が国内外での研究調査を発展させた。その結果、下記の4つの分野での先端生命科学研究の緊急性と重要性が提起された。 1.感染症と免疫でのゲノミックス 2.がんのゲノミックス、プロテオミックス 3.卜遺伝子多型 4.ゲノム創薬、細胞治療のバイオテクノロジーまた本研究では、先端生命科学の展開に向けた調査研究と同時に、外国研究者も参加した新しい研究システムを構築する為に、下記の様なA-IMBNを核とした研究者の交流を行い、共同研究を企画、遂行した 1.研究成果発表、研究調査、研究交流を目的とし、平成13年11月に台北で行ったA-IMBN国際会議を支援した。 2.平成13年7月に京都で、国際発生生物学会のサテライトシンポジウムとして行われたA-IMBNのシンポジウムを支援した。 3.平成3年10月・京都で、日本生化学会で行われたシンポジウムを支援した。 4.平成14年3月には、シンガポール/日本の国際シンポジウムを開催した。 5.将来の本格的国際共同研究の為の基盤作りと情報ネットワークの整備を進めた。 6.本研究の班員とシンガポール分子細胞生物学研究所の研究者の相互交流が頻繁に行なわれ、共同研究計画が立案された。その結果、平成14年4月には、シンガポール分子細胞生物学研究所に班員の研究室がオープンする。
