研究概要

本基盤研究では、これまで電子移動の反応場としてほとんど取り扱われることがなかったコロイド、ミセル、微粒子などの新しい界面の電子移動反応の制御に関する研究を取り扱った。特に、従来の電子移動界面を多重構造化して形成される連続ポテンシャル場を用いることにより、電子移動の高度な時間および空間制御を達成する研究分野に対して企画調査を行った。
具体的には、電子相関固体物質分子の多彩な組み合わせが織り成す様々な界面における電子移動現象を4つの新しい観点から調べた。
第1に、その三次元的構造やサイズが精密かつ複雑に制御されたナノ微粒子とコロイド分散系を構築し、新しい電子分子機能を発現させる研究について調査を行った(彌田、岩橋、戸嶋、西原、松本)。
第2に、新しい分子合成技術で生み出されるミセルやゲルのような超分子系における電荷移動キャリア(電子やイオン)の空間的および時間的な動的挙動の解析と随意な電荷移動の実現に関する研究調査を行った(岩橋、辻井、谷口)。
第3に、異なるレドックス機能体を微小空間にヘテロ高密度配列させて分子回路を形成し、電子経路のマッピングを行った(大坂、魚崎、桑畑、谷口、辻井、中戸、中林、益田)。
第4に、上記に示した分子機能界面を組み合わせ、集積化したシステムを高性能電池、光デバイス、化学センサー、触媒、医薬・化粧品などに応用、具現化するための研究に関する調査を行った(小山、相澤、金村、橋本、藤嶋、渡辺)。
第1回目の全員参加の企画調査会を平成12年8月24日〜26日の期間、北海道大学理学部で行った。また、第2回目の調査交流会を11月5日〜8日に行われた日本化学会コロイド界面部会の25周年国際シンポジウム(東京、市ヶ谷)への協賛という形で行い、海外からの著名な研究者も多数参加した。また、平成12年8、9、10、11月に、本基盤研究(C)(1)研究代表者および研究分担者(小山、西原、相澤、益田、中林、岩橋、金村、谷口、戸嶋、大坂、渡辺)が中心となり、(a)高次ナノ構造体、(b)電子ナビゲーションおよび(c)化学デバイスをキーワードとして計7回の調査行い、特定領域への発展の具体化を図る調査も行った。
