研究概要 |
In 2013 I was focusing mainly on preparation of the JEM-EUSO mission and its side-projects : EUSO-TA and EUSO-BALLOON. Additionally I was participating in the works on LANFOS apparatus for assessment of Cs137 contamination in food. The main research results can be summarized as following : 1) Full integration of the EUSO-TA electronics and software in the laboratory. Unfortunately due to hardware problems, the experiment was not yet fully installed in its target site in Utah, USA. 2) Development of the data sharing format and tools for the JEM-EUSO, EUSO-TA and EUSO-BALLOON experiments. 3) Preparation of the concepts for the new JEM-EUSO side-project : K-EUSO. 4) Construction and measuring the capacities of the laboratory version of the LANFOS apparatus. 5) MonteCarlo simulation of the LANFOS geometrical efficiency. The results output is : 1) "The JEM-EUSO instrument" paper for special edition of Experimental Astronomy in the final stage of preparation 2) "On-line and off-line data analysis for the EUSO-TA experiment" paper in the final stage of preparation 3) "The simulation of the LANFOS-H food radiation contamination detector using Geant4 package" paper in the final stage of preparation

理由
We planned to install the full EUSO-TA experiment in Utah, USA in 2013. Due to hardware problems that need to be resolved by the authors of the electronics, it was delayed. However, we plan to perform the installation in early FY2014.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
We scheduled for the following FY the installation of the EUSO-TA experiment in Utah, USA and start of the observations of cosmic rays with it. The first launch and data taking of the EUSO-BALLOON balloon cosmic rays experiment is also scheduled for 2014. The data from these two projects will allow us for further development of software and hardware for the final JEM-EUSO mission and for the new side-project, the K-EUSO cosmic rays space mission.
