研究概要	総括班は本特定領域研究の目的を厳正かつ遅滞なく達成するために組織された。本年度は研究の実施にあたって各研究項目間、班員間の共同研究、国際情報ネットワークの構築、若手研究者の支援、また、コホートの形成や感染動物実験施設運営の支援、などの重要事項を総括した。総括班会議、合同班会議、企画実施委員会を開催して、班および班員間の交流、共同研究の推進、国の内外における広汎な情報交換を行い、感染症・宿主応答研究の推進に適切な提言と研究基盤の形成に必要な措置を取った。本特定領域を円滑に推進するために、総括班においては上部委員会として評価委員会及び企画実施委員会を設けるとともに、各種委員会を設置した。 ○評価・助言委員会:領域代表者と外部の有識者を加えた評価委員会を設け、研究領域全般の評価と助言を行った。 ○企画実施委員会:領域代表者と各研究項目の班長および、総括班に設置される各委員会の委員長よりなる企画実施委員会を頻繁に開催し、研究領域全体の企画調整、推進方策の検討を行った。また、全体班会議で各研究課題の五段階評価を行い、現状の正確な把握と次年度企画や組織方針策定の参考とした。 ○対外委員会:<広報委員会>、<国際社会との接点委員会>、<産学連携・協力委員会>を設け、電子媒体による研究成果の公表と研究ネットワーク作りをおこない、情報公開・発信の効率化を目指した。 ○研究支援委員会(リソース委員会):<実験施設等の整備支援委員会>、<コホート研究支援委員会>、<若手支援・育成委員会>を設けた。 ○研究推進委員会:<ゲノム/プロテオーム委員会>、<ウイルス感染・免疫研究推進委員会>、<細菌感染・免疫研究推進委員会>、<寄生虫感染・免疫研究推進委員会>を設け、研究推進を図った。
