研究概要

この科研費のひとつの目的は研究集会の講演者旅費の援助などを通じて、日本の代数的組合せ論の発展に広く寄与することであった。本年度は7月の第19回代数的組合せ論シンポジウム(熊本大学)、12月の京大数理解析研における研究集会「代数的組合せ論」(責任者:伊藤達郎)、2月の保型形式関連分野シンポジウム(浜松、責任者:伊吹山、坂内、斎藤、宮本)を主に支援した。その際に、A.Terras, C.Bachoc, P.Terwillgerなどを海外から招聘した。
日本の代数的組合せ論は順調な進展を持続している。研究代表者の周辺では現在次の研究が進展中である。(1)種々の可換アソシエーションスキームの指標表の決定をめざした研究。特にある特殊な条件をもつGelfand-pairsに注目し、それを満たす多くの例の存在とその性質の意味付けについて研究した。また、可換アソシエーションスキームの指標表を用いて多くのラマヌジャングラフの例を新しく見い出した。(2)球面上のtight4-,5-,7-デザインの研究(坂内-宗政-Venkov),グラスマン空間上のtight designs/codesの研究(Bachoc-Bannai-Coulangeon)の研究に加えて、ユークリッド空間上のデザインについての研究を開始した。特に著しい結果はユークリッドtight 4-designsの分類の成功(坂内-坂内)である。これは、統計学におけるconstant weightを持つ、tightな次数2のrotatable designsの分類の成功を意味する。現在この方法を統計にあらわれる他の多くの種類のデザイン(種々のoptimal designs)のtightなものの分類に向けて努力中である。(3)ヨード、格子、モジュラー形式との関連性、有限幾何と関係したモジュラー形式の有限版、などの研究も継続している。
