北太平洋中層水と黒潮の相互作用についての研究

研究概要	北太平洋1/4度3層のモデルを用いて、現実の風を与えた数値実験を行った。黒潮続流はほぼ現実的に北緯35度離岸したが、親潮の南下は年平均/季節変動する風応力場のいずれを用いても再現されず、風の場で決まる循環境界付近に留まっていた。季節変動する風応力の場合には順圧応答と渦輸送によって多少は亜寒帯から亜熱帯海域への輸送が見られたが、現実よりも小さかった。オホーツク海水を模した低渦位水をウルップ水道から中層に流入させたところ、日本付近の前線構造は大きく変化した。親潮前線は日本付近で緯度で4度南下し、ほぼ現実に近い前線構造をとることが確認された。親潮前線の南下は、流入する低渦位水の流量だけでなく、岸で与える厚みに大きく依存していた。これらより、オホーツクからの低渦位水の流入が日本付近の前線構造を大きく変えることが明らかになった。現在、力学的な原因について追求中である。また、これまで得られたLADCP/CTDのデータを用いてインバース法によって絶対地衡流場を求め、日本東方における亜寒帯水の流入量と循環/混合過程を検討した。5-6月には黒潮続流域において、MVPを用いた詳細な観測を行った。水平3kmの間隔で1000mまで約500回の観測を行い、精度の良い水温塩分資料を取得することができた。このデータからオホーツク海水が黒潮続流の中層に貫入する様が明確に明らかとなった。また、本年度はMVP用のCTDセンサとDOセンサを本研究費により新たに導入した。酸素センサについては来年度試験航海を行い、MVPのような高速サンプリングで良好なデータが取得できるかどうか検証する予定である。
