ベーリング海における後期更新世古環境復元

研究概要

研究代表者は、ピストンコアGAT-3A, AB及びマルチプルコアSAの珪藻群集の研究を実施しました。これによりピストンコアGAT-3A中にいくつかの定性珪藻のピークがあることが明らかになりました。このピークは氷河の後退のイベントと考えられます。この度、茨城大学の岡田誠氏から、古磁気によるコアの新しい年代モデルを入手し、その年代モデルとレディオラリア種のLychocanoma nipponica sakaiiの絶滅データムからGAT-3AのコアトップはMarine Isotope Stage(MIS)3、そしてこの氷河の後退のイベントはMIS4であることが解りました。また、ピストンコアES中のCoccolithus pelagicus(ナノ化石)のサイズ変化を研究をおこないました。現在、この種には2つ亜種があります。各亜種は違う生地理学ゾーン(亜北極か温帯)で成長し、ココリスサイズも違います。結果、ESのココリスサイズの変化によって海流移動の歴史が解りました。研究分担者は、ピストンコアUMK-3A, BOW-8A, BOW-9A, BOW-12A及びESに珪藻とレディオラリア群集について研究をおこないました。また、マルチプルコアGAT-4AとSAに、C, N, CaCO_3,オパール等の化学分析を実施しました。年代モデルを使って、南ベーリング海の堆積速度が北太平洋とGAT-3Aより高いことが解りました。ピストンコアGAT-3Aのトップは採取できなかったが、マルチプルコアGAT-4Aではほとんどのコアトップが採取できると考えられます。現在、GAT-4Aの珪藻とレディオラリア群集について研究を実施しています。研究代表者と研究分担者はこの結果について、国内と国際学会に発表し、ポスターの制作もおこないました。また、KH99-3の結果についてワークショープを準備し実施しました。現在これらの結果について研究代表者と研究分担者は論文を作成中です。
