高圧下におけるFeO,NiOおよびCoO液体の部分モル体積測定

研究概要

地球の珪酸塩マントルと金属核珪間における親鉄元素の分配は,地球の大規模成層構造の成因に関する情報を持っている。マントルの親鉄元素存在度から核-マントル分離過程を解明するためには,温度圧力空間における珪酸塩メルトと鉄合金メルト間の元素分配を明らかにする必要がある。とくに,珪酸塩メルト-金属鉄メルト間における親鉄元素の分配に対する圧力効果を明らかにするためには,メルト中の親鉄元素の部分モル体積を評価することが本質的である。本研究ではX線吸収法により圧力下における液体の密度測定を行い,密度の組成変化から部分モル体積を求めることを目標としている。本年度は昨年度作成した単結晶ダイヤモンド試料カプセルの評価および,珪酸塩試料の圧力下におけるX線吸収法による密度測定のテスト実験を行った。実験は日本原子力研究所の協力の下にSPring-8のBL22においてキュービック型高圧装置SMAP180を用いて行った。試料はNa2Si05に25wt%のFeOをドープしたガラス試料とMORB組成のガラス試料を用いた。実験の0.1MPa,300Kから5GPa,900Kの圧力温度範囲で行った。圧力下におけるガラス試料の密度は現在解析中である。X線吸収法は吸収係数の小さい珪酸塩試料に適用することは困難であると考えられていたが,ダイヤモンドカプセルを使用することにより上記組成の珪酸塩に対しては密度測定が十分可能であることが証明された。
