研究概要	ポジトロン断層画像(PET)は定量性に優れた美しい画像を得ることができる。ポジトロン放出核種であるフッ素(F)-18(半減期110分)、炭素(C)-11(半減期20分)標識化合物を作成し、F-18、C-11標識化合物を用いるPET製剤の脳疾患への応用について研究した。ブドウ糖代謝を指標とするFDG(^<18>F-フルオロデオキシグルコース)が悪性脳腫瘍と周囲の正常脳組織に取り込まれるのに対し、アミノ酸を指標とするFAMT(^<18>F-フルオロメチルタイロシン)は、良性・悪性脳腫瘍の腫瘍部位にのみ集積する。FAMTはFDGのように正常脳に取り込まれないことから、脳腫瘍の存在診断、手術後の再発の有無の診断などに役立つ。うつ病患者数が増加しており、セロトニン(5-HT)との関連が指摘されている。セロトニントランスポーター(5-HTT)は、5-HT神経前シプナス膜に存在し、放出された5-HTを取り込みシプナス間隙から除去することで5-HT神経伝達の調整を行っている。5-HTTの機能の調節異常は、さまざまな複雑な行動傾向や異常、たとえば気分(感情)障害(双極性障害や単極性うつ病)、不安、強迫、統合失調症、神経変性性疾患そして摂食障害などで指摘されてきた。そこでうつ病患者における5-HTTの画像化を目指して、半減期が20分の炭素(C)-11で標識した^<11>C-DASB(N,N-dimethy1-2-(2-amino-4-cyanophenylthio)benzyl-amineを合成した。
