北メソポタミア平原における初期農耕村落の発生と展開に関する考古学的研究

研究概要

実績概要
北メソポタミアの一角、シリア東北部ハブール平原にあるテル・セクル・アル・アヘイマル遺跡の発掘調査ならびに出土遺物の解析をおこなった。この遺跡は当地で発掘された最古の定住農耕村落である。分析の結果、北メソポタミア沖積平野の開発に乗り出した最古の集団の文化に関して、次の新知見を得た。
(1)当地の農耕村落発生は少なくとも先土器新石器時代B期後半にさかのぼる。発掘は未了であるので、今後、さらに古い集落が見つかる可能性も残る。
(2)最古の集団は北シリア、アナトリアと類似した先土器新石器時代文化をもっていた。その類似は特に建築遺構や石器、石膏製品に認められる。
(3)土器新石器時代にかけて類似の文化を継続しつつ集落を営んだ。移行は連続的であるが、道具製作技術には大きな変化が認められた。
(4)この集団は、土器新石器時代後半になって、イラク領北メソポタミアに分布の中心を持つプロトハッスーナ文化圏に包摂された。中でも土器の類似が顕著である。
