研究概要	本年度は、研究目的・研究実施計画の(b)すなわち,ノン・コンパクト・リーマン多様体あるいは境界付多様体上の解析的不等式とその多様体の幾何学的情報についての間の関係の解明を中心に行った。具体的には、必ずしも凸とは限らない境界を持つコンパクト・リーマン多様体に対する解析的不等式であるintrinsic ultracontractive boundをDavies-Simonの手法を使い、その多様体の幾何的な量(リッチ曲率の下限、直径、境界の第二基本形式の上限、内部R-ball条件)により評価を与えた。また,そのためには、Hardy及びL^p Sobolev不等式をその準備として証明する必要があり、それも実行した。これらの解析的不等式は大変重要である。実際、それらから、例えば、必ずしも凸とは限らない境界を持つ多様体のノイマン熱核の上限やディリクレ熱核とグリーン核の境界挙動、また、ディリクレ固有値問題の最初の固有値のギャップの下限等が分かるからである。以上は(境界付)コンパクト多様体についてであるが、ノンコンパクト多様体についての成果としては、以下のことが分かった:ラプラシアンの本質的スペクトラムはその多様体の無限遠の幾何のみに依存ことが知られているが、それと無限遠における曲率の平均との関係について考察を行い、Donnelly及び自らの結果の一般化を得た。すなわち、極を持つ多様体の非正なるradial curvatureが無限遠において、積分による平均の意味で定数-K(K【greater than or equal】0)に近づくとき、区間[(n-1)^2K/4,∞]がラプラシアンの本質的スペクトラムに含まれることを示した。研究分担者の加須栄氏は、多様体収束とディリクレ形式の収束の関係を、佐藤氏はヨルゲンセン群の研究を、また、奥村氏は、タイヒミュラー空間の大域解析的研究を行い、これらの研究とラプラス作用素との間の関係解明が待たれる。
