研究概要	本年度はノンコンパクト多様体の持つ解析的性質と幾何的性質の間の関係についての昨年度の研究をさらに推し進め、改良を加えた。一般に、完備リーマン多様体の上にはラプラシアンと呼ばれる微分作用素が定義され、そのスペクトルと多様体の持つ幾何的性質との間には密接な関係があり、多くの研究者により様々な角度から研究されている。特に、考える多様体がノンコンパクト、完備のとき、ラプラシアンの本質的スペクトラムはその多様体の無限遠の幾何のみに依存する。そこで、多様体の無限遠の近傍においてある測度に関して曲率の平均を考え、その平均量の無限遠での収束と本質的スペクトラムとの間の関係について考察を試み、Donnelly、及び、自らの結果を一般化した。すなわち、極を持つリーマン多様体において、極からの距離関数rを用いて、重みexp(-cr)の測度exp(-cr)dv_Mを考える。ここで、cは正の定数、また、dv_Mはリーマン測度である。radial方向のリッチ曲率の負の定数-c^2/(n-1)を下回る部分のp乗の、この重み付き測度に関する平均が無限遠でゼロに収束するとき、ラプラシアンの本質的スペクトラムが区間[c^2,∞)を含むことが新たに分かった。ここで、nは多様体の次元である。この結果の系として、特に、極を持つリーマン多様体の体積が無限で、radial方向のリッチ曲率の負の部分のp乗の、リーマン測度に関する平均が無限遠でゼロに収束するとき、ラプラシアンの本質的スペクトラムが区問[0,∞)に一致することが分かる。研究分担者の加須栄氏は、多様体の収束とディリクレ形式の収束の間の関係について、佐藤氏は、コルゲンセン群について、芥川氏は、山辺不変量について、それぞれ研究を行った。
