有限温度QCD相転移におけるダイナミカルなストレンジクォークの影響

研究概要	この研究の目的は、初期宇宙の進化や重イオン衝突実験で重要なクォーク・グルオン・プラズマ状態の性質を、有限温度格子QCDの数値シミュレーションにより解明することにある。これまで、アップクォーク、ダウンクォークを取り入れた研究ある程度なされてきたが、相転移点近傍では次に重いストレンジクォークまで重要と期待され、それも取り入れた研究が望まれる。それを阻んできた困難は厳密な計算アルゴリズムの欠如と計算量の増大であった。前者については最近いくつかの方法が提案され、後者についても非等方格子の方法が有用と考えられる。初年度、平成13年度には、これらの新しい方法の検証と有用性のテストを行った。厳密な計算アルゴリズムは、縮退したアップクォークとダウンクォークだけを持つ場合にはハイブリッドモンテカルロ(HMC)法が使えるが、偶数個のクォークの場合しか存在しなかった。我々は、ストレンジクォークを含む奇数個の場合に使えるポリノミアルHMC法(PHMC法)を研究し、調整パラメータに対する計算効率の変化などを比較検討した。その結果、現在の計算機パワーでも何とか使えるレベルの効率が達成可能であることを示した。この論文はPhysica1 Review Dに掲載予定である。現在、この結果を取り入れたプログラムを、シミュレーションに用いるVPP5000に最適化する作業を進めている。非等方格子に関しては、最初のテストとして、クォークを無視したSU(3)ゲージ理論の場合を研究した。これまで、標準作用と改良された作用により連続極限が計算されているが、計算力の限界から外挿に2点しか使えず、連続極限への外挿がコントロールできなかった。しかし、異なる格子作用で、ほぼ同じ結果が得られたので、最終結果は信頼できると考えられている。我々は、非等方格子で計算時間を大きく押さえられることを示し、実際連続極限外挿を3点のデータを使って始めてコントロールした形で実行した。それにより、これまでの結果を再現すると伴に、計算精度を大きく改善した。結果はPhysical Review Dに掲載された。現在、動的クォークを含む場合に拡張する基礎研究を進めている。
